Inspired by the traditional Chinese treasure bowl—a symbol of good fortune, harmony, and abundance—the building was designed to represent prosperity flowing endlessly through its structure. The architects took this concept literally, infusing every level of the mall with the theme of water, movement, and life.

Spanning over 350,000 square meters and stretching across nine expansive floors, the Dongfeng Shopping Mall is part of the ambitious Dongfeng City project. It houses not just retail stores, but also a diverse mix of entertainment, dining, and hospitality spaces. Visitors can explore luxury boutiques, dine at rooftop restaurants, or even check into an elegant hotel integrated within the same complex.

At the core of this enormous Chinese shopping mall lies its most spectacular feature — a massive vertical aquarium that soars through multiple levels of the structure. The aquarium acts as a living centerpiece, filled with marine life that mesmerizes shoppers and guests alike. Surrounding it is a network of water-themed attractions, including an indoor canal where visitors can enjoy gondola rides that float gently beneath bridges and through softly illuminated tunnels.

 

Above it all, a stunning LED canopy stretches across the building, bathing the entire space in dynamic light shows that shift with time and season. The vibrant display transforms the mall into a living, breathing art piece — equally captivating by day and night.

The fountain plaza, located at the mall’s entrance, is set to become one of the largest of its kind in China. Beyond its sheer size, it serves as a public gathering space — a modern take on a traditional town square where families, friends, and tourists can meet, relax, and enjoy performances under the glowing lights of the canopy.
